Dream Girl Movie Review

Dream Girl is a laugh riot!

Ayushmann Khurrana is on fire. This will be his second success post Article 15 in 2019. The complete cast of this movie is well crafted and each character is unforgettable.

The famous duo of Vicky Donor fame Annu Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana are back with a bang as father and son. They have some wittiest dialogues in the movie. In this, an educated but jobless Karamvir is desperate to prove his father. He is popular in the locality for playing the role of Sita in the local plays of Ramayan. Everyone loves him and some take his blessings for any good work. But his father is unhappy with the attention that his son was gaining as playing a female character instead of a male. To gain his father’s trust Karamvir lands up in a call center looking for a job unaware of the fact that was a “Friendship Call Center” where 99 percent of the employees were women. Since he was desperate and also confident of his female voice playing the role of Sita, he convinced the owner of the call center that he is perfect for the role by attending his first call as the super sweet girl Pooja. He was selected for the position but he has to hide this secret from his father and the locality. He became instantly famous and pulled huge money from his clients benefitting the company. His followers were obsessed with Pooja since she understood their problems and shared a romantic relationship with all of them. From a poetry-obsessed police constable to a lovelorn and Brahmachari, everyone was head over heels with Pooja. But everything got into a serious problem when it started to hamper his relationship with his father and his lady love with whom he got engaged.

Vijay Raaz as the policeman will crack you up when he says “Dono same nahi hain kya” . Abhishek Banerjee as the Brahmachari is hilarious, Nidhi Bisht as the broken women who hate men is justified and Manjot Singh as his friend and partner in crime is loveable. All the characters are memorable and have equally added the comedy flavor. Director Raaj Shaandilyaa deserves credit for bringing something different in the comedy genre of Bollywood with a message at the end of the film.

Ayushmann Khurrana deserves a special mention for his unique collection of films from being a sperm donor, a blind smart man, a son of an elderly pregnant mother, a dedicated husband of an overweight wife, a no-nonsense cop, and a man with a female voice in a call center. He has all these roles in his kitty and never disappoints the audience with each performance making him the most versatile actor alive today in Bollywood. It’s a pleasure to watch his movies. Go book your tickets and spin Dream Girl this weekend with your family and friends.
