Bandish Bandits Review

Bandish Bandits is what you need to watch now to see the blend of Hindustani Classical music and Gen X music. The prestige of Gharana clashes with Contemporary music when one of the family members of the Rathod family fell in love with a pop singer from Mumbai.

Directed by Anand Tiwari, the series beautifully captures the majestic beauty of Rajasthan along with a powerful star cast. From Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Tailang, Sheeba Chaddha, and the new actors Shreya Chaudhry, Ritwik Bhowmik, and Tridha Choudhary make it a pleasant watch with powerful performances.

Shankar-Ehsan-Loy left no stone unturned to bring classical music digitally with outstanding classical singers. There were songs which will give you goosebump for sure along with some peppy songs. Singers from Shivam Mahadevan, Jonita Gandhi, Javed Ali, Shankar Mahadevan, Farid Hasan, Mohammed Aman, Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty, Mame Khan, Ravi Mishra were roped in for a magnificent musical show. The music is fresh and "Sajan Bin" charting the top along with "Labb Par Aaye".

The story is a love story of a modern pop singer who falls in love with a powerful classical singer from Jodhpur who doesn't miss his riyaaz under his grandfather Pandit Radhemohan Rathod (Naseeruddin Shah) who is an old-fashioned maestro, a disciplinarian, and a purist who refuses to trade on his gharana’s reputation and relies on the support of Jodhpur’s royalty to stay afloat and is the most respectable individual in Jodhpur for his music. Things became difficult for the love birds when Radhe (Ritwik Bhowmik) and Tamanna (Shreya Chaudhry) decides to help each other in their musical journey and dreams. Atul Kulkarni's top-notch performance is worth watching as the stepson of Pandit Radhemohan Rathod. In the later episodes, Sheeba Chaddha and Rajesh Tailang overpower with their acting prowess.

To sum it up, Bandish Bandits is fresh with a different storyline, outstanding music, stunning locations of Jodhpur, and the rich musical culture makes it a must-watch. It can be easily called a musical series that reintroduced classical music to the next-gen through a digital form of entertainment.
