Shonar Pahar Movie Review
Upama (Tanuja), an old lady in her 70 stays alone in her home who is abandoned by her only son Soumya (Jisshu Sengupta). A caretaker takes care of her, but life was not easy for her. She longs for her only son who didn’t pay any visit to her for more than six months. But one day her life saw a light of hope when she met Bitlu, a small kid from an orphanage who pays a visit to her home through an orphanage Anandaghar run by Parambrata Chatterjee. Bitlu suffers from HIV positive and always falls sick. He creates a special bond with Upama and fills her voidness.
This film is a story that is so frequent in today’s world where children leave their parents at a point where they need the utmost care. A must watch for today’s generation who are so busy in their lives. Excellent performances by the actors and the emotion involved between the characters were shown flawlessly by Director/Actor Parambrata Chatterjee. Shonar Pahar is a reality check for those who abandon their parents at a peak time when they need someone desperately.
