Uma Film Review

Image
Uma is inspired by the real story of Evan Leversage, the boy who moved Christmas early. Uma is a little girl who stays with her father in Switzerland who is a divorcee. She suffers from a terminal illness and has very few months to survive. She always wished to see Durga Puja held in Kolkata which she grew up listening to from his father. Her Father (Jisshu Sengupta) gets devasted and to fulfill her wish he re-creates Durga Puja early with the help of a fallen director (Anjan Dutt).   The film explores the relation of a father and a daughter who with the help of so many people successfully fulfills her dream. It shows the culture of Kolkata and the people who went out of their way to help the little child. The performances were brilliant and another beautiful film from director Srijit Mukherji.
